Michael High | Business Unit CFO | Deep Water Gulf of Mexico Shell
Michael High currently serves as the Business Unit CFO of Royal Dutch Shell’s Deepwater Gulf of Mexico business, a growing and capital intensive $5 to $10 bln revenue business segment, and leads a team split between the US, Poland, India and The Philippines. He has served in Finance roles across Shell’s Upstream and Downstream business segments, primarily in production, manufacturing, and operations environments. He’s studied and/or worked in the US, Japan, South Korea, and The Netherlands. Michael’s primary areas of expertise and interest include team leadership, business & digital transformation, cross-cultural collaboration, and financial planning & analysis. He is a recognized thought leader and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Michael is a frequent speaker and panelist at finance and strategy conferences and has recorded three podcast interviews. Michael was recognized by the Institute of Management Accountants as one of five global “Young Leaders of the Year” in 2011 and was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Association for Financial Professionals in 2018, where he currently serves as the Vice-Chairman and Board Secretary. He is a former Army Intelligence Officer and graduated top of his Georgetown University Army ROTC cohort.
